The Journey
Marrakesh opens like a fable. The medina folds in on itself, dye-stained and kaleidoscopic, and the great square of Jemaa el-Fnaa turns at dusk into a theatre of smoke and story. Behind the walls the riads breathe their cool courtyards, the Bahia Palace glows with tile and cedar, and the Majorelle garden hums an impossible blue.
From the city you slip south into the Agafay, a pale desert of stone and silence, where the Atlas stands bruised and violet on the rim of the world. A night here is worth ten days of talk, with the stars thick as grain, a Berber fire, and mint tea poured slow and long into the dark.
The last stretch turns west, to salt air and the long Atlantic swell at Taghazout. Golden cliffs lean over the surf, the village drowses in the warm wind, and the days unspool without urgency. Between city, desert, and coast, Morocco holds you in its oldest spell, and lets you go only reluctantly.
