The world's greatest wildlife spectacle on the golden savannah, then the spice-scented shores of the Indian Ocean. Twelve days, two extraordinary East African worlds.
The Gateway City
Africa's most dynamic capital — where wildlife conservation meets a vibrant arts and food scene, and Nairobi National Park sits on the city's doorstep
The Wildlife Kingdom
The greatest wildlife reserve on earth — home to the Big Five, the annual wildebeest migration, and the remarkable Maasai people who share this ancient land
The Spice Island
A jewel of the Indian Ocean — Stone Town's UNESCO labyrinthine streets, white coral beaches, turquoise waters, and a Swahili culture unlike anywhere else
This is East Africa at its most exhilarating. Twelve days that begin in Nairobi — a city where elephants roam within sight of the skyline — before flying into the vast, tawny expanse of the Masai Mara. Four nights in one of the world's great wildlife reserves, tracking lions and leopards at dawn, witnessing the drama of the wildebeest migration, and sharing the landscape with the Maasai who have called it home for centuries.
The journey ends in Zanzibar — a perfect counterpoint to the Mara's raw energy. Stone Town's spice-laden streets, the Indian Ocean's warm, crystal waters, and white-sand beaches where the pace slows to the rhythm of the tide. Every Lunara Travel journey is built around you — tell us your passions and we'll design something entirely personal.

"This itinerary is a canvas, not a fixed schedule. Tell us what excites you most — and we'll tailor it around you."
YOUR JOURNEY
Nairobi is the beginning, green and cool beneath its high sky. In the leafy suburb of Karen the elephant orphans take their milk, giraffes lean down to inspect you, and the plateau spreads gently toward the wild. It is a gentle threshold, a place to breathe before the country opens up beneath you.
Then a small plane lifts you out over the Rift, and the land drops away into the Masai Mara, rolling and gold beneath an enormous sky. The days belong to first light and failing light, to lion prides in the long grass, elephant silhouettes against the heat, and the thunder of a river crossing no film has quite captured. At night the campfire and the stars are equally vast.
The journey turns east at last, to the coral coast and the spice island of Zanzibar. Stone Town's narrow lanes carry the scent of clove and cardamom, and beyond the town the beaches dissolve into the warm Indian Ocean. After the dust and wonder of the savannah, the islands ask only that you rest, and listen to the dhows.
