Geysers erupting against arctic skies, black sand beaches where glaciers calve into the sea, and the silent wonder of the northern lights over a continent split in two.
The Capital
The world's northernmost capital — colourful houses clustered around Hallgrímskirkja, the Blue Lagoon on arrival day, and a surprisingly vibrant food and design scene
The Classic Loop
Þingvellir National Park straddling two tectonic plates, the erupting Strokkur geyser, and Gullfoss waterfall thundering into a glacial canyon — Iceland's essential route
The Wild South
Seljalandsfoss waterfall you can walk behind, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara's black sand beach, the Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and the icebergs of Diamond Beach
Iceland operates by its own rules. Geysers erupt on schedule in fields of steaming earth. Waterfalls twice the height of Niagara fall into nothing. Glaciers groan and calve icebergs the colour of aquamarine into black-sand lagoons. And on clear winter nights, the aurora borealis fills the entire sky in curtains of green and violet.
This 8-day journey covers Iceland's most spectacular scenery, from the geothermal wonders of the Golden Circle to the raw elemental drama of the South Coast. Best experienced in winter for the northern lights, or summer for the extraordinary midnight sun. Every Lunara Travel itinerary is shaped entirely around you.

Reykjavík begins it, the most northerly of capitals, where coloured roofs huddle beneath an enormous sky and the harbour smells of salt and dark stone. It has the quiet creative hum of a place on the edge, a last outpost before the land gives way to weather. A gentle entry, before the country takes over completely.
From the town you loop through the Golden Circle, where the land performs its small miracles. Strokkur hurls its column of water skyward on the hour, Gullfoss throws itself into its misted gorge, and at Þingvellir two continents drift slowly apart beneath your feet. Every road here is part of the wonder.
Then south along the coast, past waterfalls that drop sheer off the cliffs, past glaciers that calve into black lagoons, and the basalt columns of Reynisfjara rising from dark sand. And if the season and the weather agree, the northern lights climb the sky in great silent arcs of green and violet, and the whole journey is gathered into a single held breath.
